FEATURED PROJECT –

HOSPITAL OF SOUTH WEST JUTLAND

We've been involved in a project to test our robot in a hospital diagnostics department where about half a million samples are transported in and out of the building each year.
The project is based on a study that investigated how much time is being spent by laboratory staff to pick up samples. The staff  at the Hospital of South West Jutland  took 35 to 40 trips each day to collect samples from different laboratories, with each trip taking 10 minutes.
The ER-FLEX takes care of sample collection and transportation at the hospital's diagnostics department to free up time for laboratory staff and support the optimization of their workflows. This means that staff can focus on more important work  like helping to detect the early signs of cancer.
The ER-FLEX operates in an environment where the clinical laboratories are separate to the hospital area. There's an elevator that separates the robot's route between the warehouse with incoming goods and the laboratories, which means that the robot needs to take the elevator by itself. In addition, the robot opens doors and refrigerators automatically by itself.
Funded by Region Syddanmark, Syddansk OPI-pulje and Danish innovation hub, Welfare Tech, this project is a public-private innovation collaboration between Enabled Robotics and the Hospital of South West Jutland.

ROBOTS THAT PUT PEOPLE FIRST

The ER-FLEX is easy to operate using your computer, tablet or smartphone with a user-friendly web interface.
It has a full safety system that includes status light indication, an emergency-stop system, proximity sensors, a 360° degree laser scanner, 3D cameras for obstacle detection and safe arm position. Read more about our safety system here.
You can easily program the ER-FLEX to transport blood samples and tug carts from one department to another – even to different floors of the hospital building using the elevator.
Other automation workflows could include a mobile pharmacy that accompanies hospital staff on rounds and hospital UV disinfection.
